What's the difference between General and Light Refreshment licences?
General suits full meals and broader kitchen cooking. Light Refreshment suits light meals, snacks and drinks with a more limited cooking scope. FEHD and premises conditions decide the final call.
When do I need a Food Factory licence?
Central kitchens, sauce/prepared-food production, or mainly supplying other outlets (not just dine-in) often need a food factory licence. Share your operating model if unsure.
How fast can I get a licence?
It depends on licence type, completeness of drawings, premises and approval progress. Some cases reach about 30 days — that is a reference, not a guarantee for every case.
What must I ask before signing a lease?
Shopfront rules (open vs door), crystal shutter specs, meter capacity, ventilation/drainage, UBW, and how layout affects fire design and budget.
Do you handle renovation?
Yes — fire, ventilation, plumbing/electrical and interior can be one-stop, or licensing-only. Mix to fit your needs.
Taking over an old shop — new application?
Often a transfer applies, depending on existing licence status, ownership and alterations. Assess before you sign.
Is liquor applied with the food licence?
Liquor is a separate process. Plan timing and site conditions together, but authorities and requirements differ.
Is the consult free?
Initial consult is free. WhatsApp a short note on cuisine, area and timeline and we'll help map the direction.
